Before you start
Microsoft 365 and Office 2024 products may be redeemed to a Microsoft account. Use the official Microsoft setup page and keep a record of the account used.
Activation steps
Open Microsoft 365 setup
Go to the official Microsoft 365 setup page and sign in.
Enter your product key
Redeem your key to the Microsoft account you want to use for this product.
Download Office apps
Install the Office apps from your Microsoft account after redemption.
Sign in to activate
Open an Office app and sign in with the same Microsoft account used for redemption.
Troubleshooting
Wrong account used
Use the same Microsoft account that redeemed the key.
Install button not visible
Refresh the Microsoft account services page and confirm the product was redeemed.

Do I need a Microsoft account?
For many Microsoft 365 and Office setup flows, Microsoft asks you to sign in and redeem the product to an account.
